The Inn's Mile of River

Inn guests have private access to one mile of the upper Beaverkill, the fabled trout stream just steps away from our porch, which overlooks the river. The fishing season is open from April 1st through October 15th.

On the blue-ribbon trout stream where Catskill fly-fishing began, the tradition continues, with The Beaverkill Valley Inn’s one mile of the upper Beaverkill’s hallowed pools, runs and riffles. The river is fed by clear, cold waters tumbling down from high mountain tributaries. Using the classic flies for which the Beaverkill is renowned, cast your fly for brook, brown and rainbow trout in the storied waters fished by fly-fishing legends,Theodore Gordon and Lee Wulff.

Though the Inn offers access to private waters, you will still need to purchase a fishing license. Go to our page Fly Fishing Resources for information about New York State Fishing Licenses.

You can contact Trout Town Adventures if you’d like to arrange for guided fly-fishing and/or instruction.
